ISADORA

For some reason, I see most of my paintings as feminine creatures and that’s why they have female names.

This painting was supposed to scale up the previous one (My Little Painting), but when I got to this point I started enjoying the simplicity of this optical illusion, so I decided to keep it this way.

Curiously, Isadora is the Greek goddess of life and she protects and heals the sick. The name came up before the Covid-19 situation spread out globally and turned out quite appropriate.

My initial goal was to stay in Bali for a very long period, but due to the pandemic, I was repatriated to Portugal when the borders started being closed down.

People often say “you better watch out for what you wish for in Bali” and that happens to be quite true! There I joined The Nyx, which is an amazing co-living in the middle of Ubud’s forest, which joins inspiring like-minded people, such as artists, scientists, tech and permaculture professionals.

In this context, I decided to never go back to a big city.
